Texas Instruments launches 3-D DLP Education Solution in India

New Delhi: Kapil Sibal Minister for Communications & Information Technology launched the 'pilot' of Texas Instruments' (TI) 3-D Digital Light Processing (DLP) Learning Solution at Queen Mary's School located at Tis Hazari in Delhi. This is The first ever 'pilot' implementation of TI's 3-D DLP technology.
This project ushers in a completely new system of education in Indian schools and is expected to make a deep impact on the teaching as well as learning methods currently practised in the country. 3-D is known to help students in retention of content particularly for mathematics and science subjects such as physics, biology.
"Imparting of education is undergoing a sea change the world over and I am happy to note that Texas Instruments, a leading global technology company, is introducing this new 3-D DLP technology solution in India. I am confident that the TI solution will help our students equip better to face the challenges of global competition in today's highly competitive and networked world" said Sibal.
Deployment of the TI 3-D DLP solution envisages the school to have at least one period for 3-D learning per week. The 3-D content is tailor-made for Grades 6 to 12. The solution has content on Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The teacher will utilize the 3-D content to explain the subject in a more lucid manner with interactivity built into the content and teaching methodology. This highly enhances the learning and retention process in the students. The teachers will be trained to use this solution. It takes just a couple of hours for IT-savvy teachers to start using the content confidently in the classroom.
Presiding over the launch function, Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely, Minister for Education, Government of Delhi said, "I am delighted that Queen Mary's School in Tis Hazari, Delhi is the first school to pilot this solution in the country. This is a highly respected school in the Capital and I am confident that the teachers and students will benefit immensely from this solution".
"We believe that the TI 3-D DLP technology solution will help schools in India to enhance the quality of education and introduce more effective and innovative ways of teaching and learning in India", said Mr. Deepak Bhardwaj, Director - Corporate Affairs, Texas Instruments India. "Students will be able to actually 'experience' the nuances of the topics that they are being taught through this technology".
Thanking Texas Instruments for piloting' the solution in Queen Mary's School, Principal Ms. Neelam Kapur said, "Our school serves all the sections of society and delivers free education from Grade 6 onwards with support from the government. Being a school for girls, I am confident that more girl students will take up maths and science for specialization as the TI solution will instill confidence in them and create ease of learning."
