The Google algorithm is called PageRank. You would think it was named after its ability to rank pages but Google claims it's named after Larry Page. Larry page and Sergey Brin perceived their college education from Stanford, U.S. which led to the patent holding by Stanford. They were allotted 1.8mm shared which was sold for 336 million in the year 2005.
