Tata Tele ties up with Meridian to launch phone

New Delhi: Mobile services provider Tata Teleservices (TTSL) has partnered with the UK-based Meridian Group to launch a QWERT phone priced at
4,795. Meridian sells mobile handsets under the 'Fly Mobile' brand in India.
The dual SIM phone, which supports both GSM and CDMA services, is equipped with a 5.8 cm screen, 1.3 megapixel camera and memory expandable up to 4GB. A 1500 mAH battery promises a 300 hours of stand-by time, up to 8 hours hours of talk-time on CDMA and GSM networks. It also features a MP3 audio player, FM radio and 3.5-mm universal audio jack. The phone supports WAP & Bluetooth and a CDMA USB modem, which allows CG588 to be connected to a PC for Internet browsing.
"The device is an affordable solution for those who want to stay connected to the Internet on their mobile phones, while having the convenience and dependability of a dual-SIM CDMA-GSM handset," said Sunil Batra, President - CDMA Operations, Tata Teleservices.
