Sony PlayStation Network is back on track

Bangalore: Sony's PlayStation Network and Qriocity Services which were amputated in the Playstation attack by hackers resulted in the shutdown of these services on April 19, 2011. But Sony is all set to make a comeback with its services going online today. Sony Playstation Network, Executive Deputy President, Kazuo Hirai, declared the comeback of its services online from today. The Sony breach resulted in a lot of damage to the company.As a result Sony has rebuilt its entire PlayStation Network with better security features. To adapt to the news security features, users have to upgrade their firmware and change their passwords before they can log back in to the network. Kazuo Hirai said "this would include sign-in for the Playstation Network and the Qriocity music services and online gameplay for PS3 and PSP." In addition to the security services provided by Sony, the company is also rendering PlayStation Network and Qriocity services free for its customers for a month. Sony said that they have updated their data security systems, and the changes made are through intensive investigation aided by some of the most reputed forensic and security experts in the computer industry. These changes include the advanced security technology, advanced levels of encryption, additional firewalls and better early-warning systems. Kazuo Hirai also said, "Please know that we're doing everything we can to fully restore network service around the world and to regain your trust in the days, weeks and months to come."
