Bangalore: With an aim to help companies improve the management of sustainability initiatives, enterprise software giant SAP has launched a new software called SAP Business Objects Sustainability Performance Management. "Sustainability is increasingly mission-critical across the corporate world," said Stephen Stokes, Vice President of Sustainability and Green Technologies at AMR Research. SAP claims that the new application will enable companies to easily set sustainability goals, measure and communicate performance and reduce data collection costs and errors. The company said, the software comes with an interface that streamlines internal and external reporting and users can select from a centralized library of key sustainability performance indicators (KPIs) based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework or create their own, reports BusinessGreen. The KPI data from various sources in the organization can be automated with the product and it is also possible to integrate the data with existing SAP sustainability products. Some of these products include SAP ERP, the SAP Environment, Health and Safety Management application and the SAP Carbon Impact on-demand solution. "Managing and reporting an organization's sustainable performance via transparent and high quality data collation, analysis, optimization and modeling is a new basis for defining and communicating operational excellence," Stokes added.
