Safe to text while driving? Watch this YouTube hit
Bangalore: You might want to watch the latest YouTube hit before you text while driving. A graphic British police video about the dangers of sending text messages while driving has become a worldwide hit on the Internet. The video created by the local Gwent Police force, cost $16,300 to make, and was intended to be shown locally. However the four minutes 16 seconds clip showing the horrifying three-car crash has already been seen millions of times on YouTube. In the film called 'Cow', a teenager named Cassie is shown triggering a pileup that kills four people when she tries to send a text message while driving. The film shows heads going through windshields, bloodied bodies and the lifeless eyes of a baby. The Gwent Police are calling it "the film that will stop you texting and driving." Local actress Jenny Davies, who plays the blood-soaked crash survivor Cowan said, "It has had a massive global reaction. It is really important that it is as realistic as possible as (otherwise) people are not going to believe it and it is not going to affect people." Chief Inspector John Pavett said, "I hope that after watching this film, motorists will think twice before picking up their mobile phone when behind the wheel, and realize that a quick reply to a text message or answering a phone call is never worth putting theirs and other people's lives at risk." The full 30 minutes film is due to screen on BBC Wales in October.
