Mark Dean, IBM CTO, and one of the engineers of the original 5150 says, "When I help design the PC, I did not think I had live long enough to witness its decline. PCs are growing the way of the vacuum tube, typewriter, vinyl records, CRT and incandescent light bulbs." Moreover he adds that more than smartphones and tablets, it is the social interaction enabled by the new devices, which is a making the PC obsolete. Though PCs are no longer ruling at the leading edge but they will continue to be in use. It has been thirty years now, and the technology world is changing at a fast pace. With the rise of smart phones and tablets, it raises a question that is the world soon going to enter the post-PC era?
