Motorola unveils smartphone Defy in India

Mumbai: Motorola Mobility India announced the launch of its new smartphone Defy in India. The slim, Android-powered smartphone with a 9.3cm (3.7inch) high-resolution touch screen display is priced at 18,990. The 3G handset comes with features such as a 3.7-inch Capacitive Touchscreen with 480 x 854 pixel resolution, 5 MP camera and expandable memory up to 32 GB. It has an Adobe Flash Lite enabled browser. The additional feature called Swype provides continuous finger motion. Motorola Defy is dust proof, water resistant and has scratch damage protection. "With all the features consumers expect in a smartphone, Defy packs advanced web browsing, entertainment and messaging capabilities as well as a design that withstands the challenges of everyday life. With the Defy you can access 3G mobile hotspots, resize widgets, enjoy a display resistant to the elements that stays with you in your adventures and easier text input using one continuous finger motion," said Faisal Siddiqui, Country Head Of India, Motorola Mobility. The Android 2.1-powered phone offers a talk time of up to 400 mins and standby time of up to 400 hours. Additional features include digital zoom, auto focus and LED flash, Defy is Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)-enabled to stream, store and share content with compatible devices like HDTVs, game consoles and PCs.
