Mistral joins ARM Solution Center for Android

Bangalore: Mistral Solutions, a professional design services provider in the embedded space, has joined the ARM Solution Center for Android (SCA). The alliance with SCA, a collaborative resource for designers and developers of ARM technology-based products running on Android, will help Mistral to offer customized, solutions on the Android platform. It will allow them to develop open source mobile and connected devices. "Android was written for the ARM architecture, the processor architecture for internet-everywhere applications; from mobile to the connected home. The extended partnership, through new deals, ensures device manufacturers have the best development solutions at their disposal," said Kevin Smith, Vice President of Segment Marketing, ARM. The different offerings of Mistral on the Android Platform include, Android support and porting on the OMAP3 EVM, Integration of Android framework to an existing BSP. It would also provide support for peripherals which are not natively supported in Android and help in development of backend applications over Android framework. The company will ensure porting of Android framework to other processor families. "Customers will be able to leverage Mistral's experience in working on ARM's processor families and the Android platform, to devices with better features; at viable costs and shorter timelines," said Samyeer Metrani, Vice President - Services (U.S.), Mistral Solutions.
