Missouri to have new IBM datacenter

Bangalore: IBM is going to locate its new datacenter in central Missouri. Except for its location in the City of Columbia, the company has not disclosed any further information about the facility. Up to 800 jobs in central Missouri are expected to be created by the facility. IBM is offered more than $28 million in tax incentives to come to Missouri by the state. The data center could emerge as one of Boone County's largest private employers. Before settling on Columbia, the company considered over two dozen locations around the country. The partnership with the state took the form of more than $28 million in state bonds. IBM adds from three to five datacenters to its infrastructure every year. With other datacenters in Lansing, Michigan, Dubuque and Iowa, The technology services delivery center will be the company's third new U.S. site in the past 18 months.
