Bangalore: Microchip announces two new high-density 8-bit microcontrollers (MCUs) which combine XLP technology for extreme Low Power consumption with 128 KB Flash programme memory and 4KB RAM, providing designers with space to implement application-specific code.
The PIC18F47J13 is an 8-bit microcontroller to offer 128 KB Flash programme memory in a 28-pin package, whilst the 44-pin PIC18F47J53 provides full-speed USB 2.0 with Microchip's free USB stack. Both devices integrate mTouch technology for capacitive touch-sensing user interfaces as well as an on-chip 12-bit ADC which provides the accuracy required by advanced sensor, instrumentation and measurement applications.
By combining a new benchmark for high memory density in a 28-pin device, with sleep currents down to 9 nA and flexible wake-up sources, the PIC18F47J13 MCU extends battery life, while providing generous code space and a robust peripheral set. This helps designers to create more efficient battery-controlled applications such as security systems, irrigation systems, remote controls, video-game controllers, wireless sensor networks and portable medical devices.
