Juniper Networks to offer networking courses to PSG College

Bangalore: Juniper Networks, which delivers software, silicon and systems for networking, announced a partnership with PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, to help students obtain high-performance networking skills and receive Juniper Networks certification while still in college.
As a participant of Juniper Networks' Academic Alliance program, PSG College has received high-performance networking equipment, including J2320, J2350 enterprise routers and EX 4200 switches, along with the cabling and interface cards. Some selected PSG faculty members will also get opportunities to be trained by Juniper partners in operating the equipment.
The alliance offers the college the lab guides and diagrams, and technical manuals and discounts on courseware, technical support, and router and switch hardware. According to the company, students will get full access to Juniper Technical Assistance Center (JTAC) for any hardware or software with an active service plan. "The alliance is an opportunity for Juniper to emphasize the importance of a highly scalable, reliable and efficient network for future network engineers," said Sridhar Sarathy, Vice President, India Operations, Juniper Networks. "Partnering with a college of PSG's reputation is also a chance for Juniper to bridge the gap between industry and academia."
The Juniper Networks Academic Alliance program is designed specifically for colleges and universities to offer Juniper Networks Enterprise Networking courses to their students. Certified networking professionals are now in greater demand than ever, commanding higher salaries and adding more value to high-end enterprises. Juniper Networks Education Services has developed courseware and certifications for network professionals with beginner to advanced knowledge of Juniper Networks enterprise networking deployments. The course will focus on operation of Juniper Networks routers in the enterprise, including installation, configuration and operational analysis. This course prepares students to take the Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate ? Enterprise Routing exam. The advanced module is a lab-intensive course that includes routing and services configurations on Juniper routers and prepares students to take the Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist ? Enterprise Routing exam.
