Is the Blackberry Era Heading Towards Darkness?

Apple has the leadership setup with a very strong base and now Google and Blackberry are trying to get onto the track.
But the company has not lost all its hope. The Co-CEOs of RIM does not recognize the failure of the Playbook and continue to sell its merits in terms of security. It has to be noted that PlayBook tablet computers shipments fell from 500,000 to 200,000 units in one quarter. Co-Chief executive Jim Balsillie was optimistic about the company's situation and talked of "laying a strong foundation for its expanding market opportunity". Jim admitted that expansion would be thump after increased research and development, as well as marketing and sales, around the launch of its new tablet and the repair of its operating system.
It's tough to envision someone in this room being so composed, unruffled and serene in this aggressive competitive environment, but RIM has sustained to traverse the tornado well in recent quarters. Perhaps there is a Golden Ace up RIM's sheath and the company's roadmap will, in fact, blow us all away.
