New Delhi: Technology giant IBM is looking at maintaining its strong position in the Indian data storage market with the launch of a new product 'IBM Storwize V7000', which will help clients lessen their workload.
"The quantity of data generated everyday is growing and so the requirement for storage is also going up. In such a condition, storage solutions need to not just efficiently manage data, but also need to help in optimising the workload," the IBM India/South Asia Vice-President (Storage Systems and Technology Group), Sandeep Dutta said.
The product 'IBM Storwize V7000' is designed to manage data flow efficiently and cost-effectively and reduce storage rack space, allowing room for clients' future expansion.
Dutta said sectors like telecom, media and entertainment along with data-centric projects like UIDAI (Aadhaar) would give further fillip to the demand for storage solutions.
According to research firm IDC, storage market in India is expected to grow at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.8 percent from 2011-2015.
