HP celebrates 20 years of x86 innovation

Bangalore: Hardware giant HP's standard servers lead 20 years of x86 innovation. HP came to the arena while companies of all sizes and across multiple industries are looking for technology that can help them manage the challenges of data center power and cooling space as well as lower the associated costs. In 1989, organisations were increasingly looking at the potential of the network to help business, share information, applications and systems to improve business decisions, reduce costs and create better ways to serve customers. "Our customers demand innovative, reliable server technologies that can maximise the performance, space, energy efficiency of their data centers," said Rajesh Dhar, Diredctor, Industry Standard Servers, HP Enterprise Business India. Titan industries is a customer of x86 server. "Time to market is critical for us. At the same time we are also looking to lower our operational expenditure. With HP's expertise, we migrated more than thirty applilcations into six HP Proliant servers and this has helped us increase utilisation by 30 percent and reduce time to deploying a new application from months to weeks," said C S Ramesh, Head of IT, Titan Industries. Religare, a diversified financial services group based in India, relies on HP blade technology to support its business growth. Religare runs its mission critical applications and database on HP Proliant BL 460c servers housed within HP blade system c7000 enclosures. The servers have consolidated Religare's infrastructure, improved efficiency and provided scalability to support the company's business growth. "With our expanding portfolio and customer base, it is a business imperative to be able to scale our technology infrastructure to growing demands," said G Nagaraj, Directorand Chief Technology Officer, Religare Enterprises Limited.
