Bangalore: The search engine giant Google has officially launched its new search feature Google Instant in India. It was launched in the U.S. and some parts of Europe as well. Google Instant combines three core features - dynamic results, auto- complete predictions, and 'scroll-to-search' functionality - to deliver smart, predictive results as you type. This new interface combined with infrastructure enhancement claims to save up to 5 seconds on a typical search query. Google India blog have highlighted a few facts about how people are using Instant. It states that it has merely been two weeks, there has been an increase in searches without having to use the enter or search button. Google Instant currently works on Google homepage and results page not in other places such as browser search boxes, the Google toolbar and the Chrome Omnibox. As people have learned about Google Instant, many seem to be searching, more on the homepage in order to use the feature.Searchers have become more interactive and there has been about 7 percent rise in search queries. Google has extended Instant to Google Books, Videos, Blogs and Updates, and launched keyboard shortcuts to help users navigate through search results. Keeping the growth of mobile telephony in India Google is actively working on the launch of an instant search feature for the mobile platform as well which will make searches easy and fast for the mobile users. In addition to all of this, Google has started testing a new feature that would display pop-up previews of the websites listed in search results. This is how it works. When a searcher places the cursor on the magnifying glass icon a preview of the linked page will pop up and the details are highlighted in orange. They can click anywhere on the preview and the browser directly navigates to that page. Apart from saving time, it also enables better searches. So far it is just a test and is not a feature on the Google Instant.
