New Delhi: Eastern Software System (ESS), a provider of technology solutions and services to SMBs and enterprises recently achieved cross platform interfacing between its ERP ebizframe and a German ERP. One of ESS' multinational customers in India uses a German ERP called WESPA which runs on IBM AS400 platform. Since, WESPA is running across all of its global locations (production and production planning module), it was mandatory for the company's India operations to run these modules of WESPA ERP here as well. They however had the flexibility of opting for an ERP of their choice for the other functionalities and modules. According to Anil Bakht, Chairman and Managing Director, ESS, "As and when the client approached us with this seemingly daunting task, we were more than ready to accept this technical challenge. It is our immense product strength which emanates from homegrown technology and in-house research and development coupled with exhaustive roll-out experience over the years that enables us to take on such projects." In an example of cross platform interfacing, ESS successfully interfaced its ERP ebizframe running on Intel-based servers with the WESPA ERP running on IBM AS400. ESS' ebizframe ERP pulls the base data from the WESPA system and automatically creates the ebizframe entries as per the requirement of ebizframe ERP. The pulling of data is parameterized, which gives end-users the flexibility to access the required set of information only. Users can also fill up the missing information in interface mode itself. The remaining processes of the specific modules get executed and the reporting structure as per Indian government's statutory requirements is being generated in ebizframe itself. All tax related reports viz. TDS, VAT, sales tax and excise, are being handled in ebizframe.
