Boston: EMC, a storage software and management vendor, unveiled the specifics of its expanded reseller agreement with Cisco Systems and Brocade at the EMC World conference in Boston.
EMC will introduce a full range of Brocade 10Gbit Ethernet switches and selected Cisco Nexus 10Gbit Ethernet switches through the EMC Select Program. It will also offer various services around converged networking, supporting protocols such as Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), Converged Enhanced Ethernet (CEE), iSCSI and Network-attached Storage (NAS).
EMC announced expanded reseller partnerships as the company fleshes out its portfolio of converged networking products and services. EMC's pitch at this week's EMC World conference has been the "Journey to the Private Cloud." The company says those clouds will be formed by bringing Fibre Channel and Ethernet fabrics together to create the backbone of the virtualized data center.
To that end, EMC plans to build out its converged networking services, products and management tools over the next several months. The company also claims to have developed tools that help customers migrate existing storage network infrastructures to converged networks.
