D-Link launches Green managed switch

Mumbai: D-Link, a networking solutions provider for consumer and business, has launched a Green managed switch the D-Link Green 24-port Managed Gigabit Switch (DGS-3200-24). When detecting a link down, the DGS-3200-24 ensures conservation of power usage without sacrificing network performance.
D-Link Green Technology automatically detects device link status and reduces the power usage of ports that are not linked. The DGS-3200-24 supports both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols to meet the ever-increasing demand of larger address space. IPv6 also helps in reduction of cost deployment.
Gary Yang, Managing Director, D-Link (India) said,"Nowadays, environmental awareness is at an all time high and consumers worldwide are demanding more environmental friendly and energy efficient products and solutions." He added, "D-Link Green products don't compromise on operational performance or functionality, and do not cost more."
In addition to the innovative Green features and the smart fan, the DGS-3200-24 switch offers advanced security features and is IPv6 Phase II certified. The DGS-3200 series has the capability to operate in temperatures up to 50 degree Centigrade and in especially suitable for the tropical climate of India.
Jayesh Kotak, VP-Product Marketing, D-Link (India) added, "D-Link DGS-3200 is an extremely compact device that not only helps customers lower their operating expenses by cutting down on electricity consumption." D-Link now has a variety of Green Technology products, including Switches, Wi-Fi Routers, Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Internet-enabled Digital Photo Frames.
The company takes initiatives to conserve energy, by protecting the environment from harmful substances and reducing waste by using recyclable packaging. It gives an overview of D-Link Green technology that provides eco-friendly alternatives without compromising on performance.
Before being labeled as D-Link Green products, it must incorporate D-Link's energy-saving technology, Use D-Link's eco-friendly sustainable packaging (such as sleeveless design and soy ink) and comply with Green initiatives (such as WEEE, ROHS, and ENERGY STAR).
