Bangalore: With all the bad press that iPhone 4 has been getting since its launch, it's surprising to know that an average iPhone 4 owner feels good about his purchase, reveals a new survey by research firm ChangeWave Research. The survey questioned 213 iPhone 4 owners to find out their likes and dislikes about the iPhone 4. And in light of the antenna issue, that has been hogging media headlines for quite sometime now; the poll results were anything but surprising. Even though the poll was carried out between July 19 and 28, as the research firm wanted to wait for the firestorm over the iPhone 4 antenna issues to die down a bit, the antenna issue was still a major part of the survey. The owners' dislikes for the phone's antenna issue ranked at third place (24 percent), preceded by people disliking having to use AT&T (27 percent) and complains about the coverage, speed, and quality of AT&T's 3G network. Paul Carton, Vice President, ChangeWave said on the antenna issue, "This is what happens when the issue becomes one of the biggest issues in tech for a few weeks. But we are actually surprised that the impact wasn't bigger." In addition, ChangeWave's results showed that the antenna problems weren't necessarily as prevalent as it had been made out to be. While one in five iPhone 4 owners reported that they had been affected by the antenna issue, only 7 percent described it as a very big problem. By contrast, 64 percent said that they hadn't experienced any problem at all. When users were asked about the rate of dropped calls, respondents reported dropping fewer calls (5.2 percent), when compared to iPhone 3GS owners surveyed after that device's release last year. The latter group reported a dropped call rate of 6.3 percent. Carton described the figure as "an interesting counterpoint" to much of the buzz around the antenna issue. The response of the users towards the solution given by Apple for the antenna issue was also very favorable. A total of 73 percent deemed themselves either very or somewhat satisfied with the company's response, with 18 percent saying they were very or somewhat unsatisfied. Ultimately the survey revealed that the iPhone 4 is not such a bad deal as the users themselves vouch for it.
