Bangalore: Companies worldwide make extensive use of data centers in their day to day operations. Large enterprises has started to rely on data centers which are highly insufficient for them, said a report by Oracle . The survey was conducted on 919 companies around the world which showed revenues more than $100 million or $1 billion depending on their size. The data centers were not only insufficient but also highly expensive which came with increased hardware cost. A study was made by Gartner in 2006 which revealed that since organizations are increasingly deploying more computing power, so by 2008, 50 percent of current data centers will have insufficient power and cooling capacity to meet the demands of high-density equipment. Now this seems to become the reality. The Data centers in companies were graded from 0 to 10 for their performance by the Oracle survey. Data centers in Germany and Switzerland received the highest average point of 6.09. U.S. scored 5.79 while the European average was 5.32. The global average on the study was very depressing with 5.28. Companies complained that support that looked fine on paper always fell short when the service was actually availed. The upcoming Malaysian data centers can create a sense of hope among the companies going through the debacle of insufficient data centers. MyTelehaus, CSF Group and Teliti are three Datacenter--for approximately 400 million ringgit, aimed at turning Malaysia into a datacenter hub.
