Check Point elevates the level of Antivirus and URL filtering software

BANGALORE: Check Point Software one of the internet security technologies annunciated the new streaming technology that spectacularly modifies antivirus and URL filtering software blades performance, benefiting all Check Point security gateways through a software upgrade at no additional cost.
Check Point's new streaming technology allows a record performance for antivirus and URL filtering software blades which up to 15 times antivirus throughput improvement, with over 1Gbps for a 2-core system and 3Gbps for a 4-core system. It also enables up to 80 times antivirus and URL filtering connection capacity improvements with over 500,000 million concurrent connections
"With Check Point's new levels of performance, we are able to deliver all-inclusive protection on a single appliance without the customer having to choose between performance and enhanced security." said Bhaskar Bakthavatsalu, Regional Director India & SAARC, Check Point Software Technologies.
Check Point's Software Blade architecture provides businesses with the competence to produce and extend their own security gateway from a library of centrally managed security applications or 'software blades,' such as firewall, virtual private network (VPN), intrusion prevention (IPS), anti-virus, URL filtering and many others. The patented SecureXL technology boosts firewall throughput performance for UTM-1 appliances with a simple software upgrade. Already available on the UTM-1 3070, the upgrade extends these performance gains across all Check Point UTM-1 appliances, including: UTM-1 130, 270, 570, 1070 and 2070 series. It includes up to four times greater firewall performance and up to four times connections per second improvement
Now, customers can activate additional software blades to expand all layers of security for uncompromised protection and performance with a simple software upgrade to R71.
