Philadelphia, London, Hyderabad: AppLabs a software testing and quality management company has announced the results of a survey that they conducted. The survey was done among analysts and IT experts of around 2000 companies globally. This survey checked whether organizations are ready to adopt the software test automation. The results show that 88 percent of organizations would consider using the software test automation application within the next three quarters. Today organizations understand the value of the application that is beneficial to them in different ways like reusing the application, better labor utilization and cost savings. Test automation is a process of writing a computer program to do testing that would otherwise need to be done manually. Once tests have been automated, they can be run quickly and repeatedly. This is often the most cost effective method for software products that have a long maintenance life, because even minor patches over the lifetime of the application can cause features to break which were working at an earlier point in time. The participants for the survey were questioned on how many organizations have testing application running already, 65 percent of the participants suggested that below 75 percent of the application is used. The results also indicated that the organizations that have not configured their application testing are on the verge to do so. And they feel 2011 is the right time to implement the testing application.
