Bangalore: In order to get prelimimary support for HTML5 and CSS3 and also to extend Illustrator's SVG capabilities, Adobe has introduced Illustrator CS5 HTML5 Pack. Both Apple and Google have been pushing HTML5 as an open development platform, reports Thomas Claburn of the Information Week.
The company is releasing an add-on pack for its Illustrator vector-drawing package that turns the software into an HTML5 authoring tool. The Illustrator CS5 HTML5 Pack lets Illustrator output HTML5 content directly. The usage of SVG and CSS3, lets designers build pages which can be re-formatted for PC browsers, tablets, and smartphones, and can be used to create intelligent widgets such as calendars whose appearance can change dynamically.
HTML5 is not yet supported by all browsers and Adobe is releasing the first version of HTML5 as an Adobe Labs download. Once this is out, most of Adobe's creation will work in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari and will be compatible with Internet Explorer 9.
