Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., a leading mobile phone provider was mentioned as the world's tenth richest technology company in 2011. It announced revenues of 39.44 trillion on a consolidated basis for the second quarter ended June 30, 2011, a 4 percent increase year on year. For the quarter, the company posted consolidated net income of 3.51 trillion, representing an 18 percent decrease year on year. Consolidated operating profit for the quarter was 3.75 trillion won.
