Tech Icons' Weird Habits and Hobbies

4. Name: Yoshiro Nakamatsu

Position: prolific inventor

Weird Habit/Hobby: Nakamatsu, aged 83, claims to be the inventor of the floppy disc, and reportedly licensed his invention to IBM, although the details of the deal are confidential. He also claims to be the inventor of the digital watch, and that he has about 3,000 patents to his name.

He says being underwater stimulates his creative-inventive process, and has a special Plexiglas board to write on while underwater. He stays underwater without breathing till even ‘0.5 seconds before death’! He moreover has a gold toilet room that he uses to help in his thinking process.

And if all this wasn’t enough, he uses a ‘vertical moving room’ (which he denies is an elevator) in his house that he uses to help stimulate his inventive abilities.
