TeamLease raises
100 Crore From ICICI Venture, Gaja Capital

Bangalore:TeamLease Services has raised
100 Crore from ICICI Venture and existing investor Gaja Capital Partners. The amount raised will be used for the vocational education segmentthat is rollout of IIJT centers, entering in new domains and for the TeamLease University project.
TeamLease Services, focused on the organized temporary staffing market since 2003, entered vocational education by acquiring the Indian Institute of Job Training (IIJT) in March 2010.
The company has also started work on TeamLease University that will offer associate degree programs in the same domains and will start operations later this year after regulatory and legislative approvals.
TeamLease acquire majority stake in IIJT by buying out existing shareholders (founders and Tiger Capi
tal Management) and infused new capital into the company. Teamlease has an option to take full ownership of the company at a future date.
Gaja Capital had invested in TeamLease in late 2009. Gaja Capital along with HDFC invested in Indus World Schools, a unit of Career Launcher India Ltd. It had invested $8.20 Million in Career Launcher in 2007.
Its other investment companies include Haldia Coke & Chemicals, Bonanza Portfolio and Educomp Schools. In the beginning of this year, New Silk Route invested in Hyderabad's Shri Chaitanya Edcuational Group and Dubai-based QInvest's investment in FIITJEE.
