Bangalore: Tandberg Technology has launched its first business quality USB webcam 'PrecisionHD USB Camera', which is conceptualized, designed and developed by their Bangalore and Oslo research and development centers. This is the first global product launched by the company since its inception.
"The center has doubled the investment as it has achieved 100 percent growth in 17 months since inception," informed Pradeep Bardia, Director, Research and Development, Tandberg.
The webcam is made for business use and does not require any additional drivers or software installations for operating. The users can plug it into a USB port and can utilize their PC video software for instant access. It supports a wide range of standard definition resolutions which ensure better communication with the non-HD users. The camera offers a high resolution 720p with 30 frames per second.
"This USB camera is a perfect blend of optics, mechanics, software and hardware which talks volumes about the quality of talent behind this strategic innovation that has the potential to transform market dynamics. We will continue to leverage the ecosystem available here to bring forth more such innovations," said Bardia.
"When used with Tandberg Movi or Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, it enables users to see each other in the best possible quality whether calling into a video conference or telepresence meeting," said Fredrik Halvorsen, CEO, Tandberg.
With this launch, the company is focused on building a complete video communications infrastructure focused on delivering the best-in-class solutions to global markets.
