'Talking' Cigarette Packs Now Help You Quit Smoking
Bangalore: Cigarette smoking is one of the trends which is mostly adopted by the urbanites out of curiosity, fashion or of peer pressure. So, the percentage of smokers has incredibly increased and this has not only affected their own health but also proves very injurious to non-smokers, the passive smokers. Though many medicines and different forms of remedies have been introduced to help quit smoking, it is still a tough task to bid goodbye to smoking.
Non-smokers will now have a reason to smile and celebrate as the Scientists from the Stirling University's Centre for Tobacco Control Research in UK have invented a very unique ‘talking’ packet of cigarette with the recorded messages that encourage people to quit smoking, as reported by TNN.
The scientists have developed two such kinds with different messages in which one packet gives the smoker a phone number for advice to quit smoking and another to remind that smoking reduces fertility.
This technology of talking cigarette is similar to the singing birthday cards where the message plays when the card is opened.
The packets are enclosed with a recorded voice message and a playback unit is put in order to play the message whenever the packs are opened.
