Symantec posts revenue at $ 1.65 Bn in Q1

Bangalore: Symantec, a provider of IT solution has announced the results of its first quarter of fiscal year 2009. The company's revenue for the quarter has increased at $1.650 billion and there is growth by 16 percent when compared with the same quarter last year.
Symantec's net income for this quarter was $187 million, compared to $95 million for the same quarter last year. The company's earnings per share grew at $0.22, compared to earnings per share of $0.10 for the same quarter last year. Cash flow from operating activities was $ 414 million; there was a raise by 18 percent compared to $ 351 million over the corresponding period last fiscal.
The company's revenue for the second quarter of fiscal year 2009, ending Oct. 3, 2008, is estimated between $1.52 billion and $1.56 billion and earnings per share are estimated between $0.15 and $0.17.
