Gopal Raju

Gopal Raju is an editor, journalist, businessman and philanthropist who is considered to be the pioneer of Indian American ethnic media in the United States. He is the founder of Indian American Foundation (IAF), which has raised millions of dollars to support medical, educational, development and disaster relief projects in India. In the year 1993, Raju established the Indian American Center for Political Action (IACPA), with the intention to help students with their internship programmes. He was also behind the India Abroad Fellowship Program at Columbia University for many years.
