Stealth Mode Startups That Got Acquired

The e-commerce data startup Adku founded by Ajit Varma, Carlos Whitt and Jesse Shieh was acquired by daily deal giant Groupon while still in its stealth mode. The company was in its stealth mode ever since launching in early March 2011. Adku raised $1.5 million from several investors. Julie Mossler, Spokesperson, Groupon commented about the interest of the company’s interest in buying the startup. She said, “Adku describes itself as a stealth startup looking to revolutionize e-commerce. Such strong product technologists and engineers add great value to the development team we are continuing to grow in our Palo Alto office.”
