103 crore from First Carlyle Ventures III, an investment arm of PE giant Carlyle, reports VCCircle.
Visen is an ISO 9001-2008 certified company producing and marketing water based polymer emulsions for paints for coatings, textiles, adhesives and construction industry for various applications. Established in 1985 by Vijay S Nair, it has grown from strength to strength with multi-location manufacturing units in India and a branch in U.A.E. Currently, the production capacity of the firm is 1,20,000 MT per year and with U.A.E plant going on stream will grow to 2,20,000 MT per year.
First Carlyle Ventures III is a part of Carlyle Asia Growth Partners IV, L.P., an affiliate of the buyout major-Carlyle Group. The investment comes in a way of fully convertible preference shares in lieu of a majority stake in the mid-size company. In 2006, they have invested $20 million in Claris Lifesciences. The Carlyle Group has closed fourth growth capital investments, totaling over $140 million in Asia, which includes an undisclosed sum in Andhra Pradesh-based dairy firm Tirumala Milk Products, two Korean firms and one Chinese company.
CAGP IV is the fourth fund managed by the Carlyle Asia Growth Capital group, a sector-agnostic growth capital fund which invests in high-growth companies with strong local management and leading market positions across China, India, Korea and other important Asian markets.
