Lawrence Ellison: From Technician to Computer Technology
Larry Ellison is the co-founder of Oracle, and the third wealthiest American. He had a tough childhood and was aimless ad he jumped across multiple jobs. His aptitude for math and science landed him a job as a technician at Fireman's Fund and Wells Fargo bank. He worked as a programmer at Ampex and was involved in building the first IBM-compatible mainframe system. One of the projects he handled was a database for the CIA, which he later renamed as 'Oracle'. He later founded Software Development Laboratories, which he renamed as 'Oracle', after his first project.
