NTT Mobile Communications Network
NTT Mobile Communications Network raised $18.051 billion when it issued its IPO in 1998. The company changed its name to NTT DOCOMO in 2000. NTT managed to bring a dull stock market back to life with its public offering. NTT’s IPO brought the Nikkei Index’s to 14,295 points—adding 1,300 points—in just five days. The IPO helped the pre-offering value of the shares to rise from 3.9 million Yen to 4.65 million Yen. NTT, which spun off from its parent company Nippon Telegraph and Telephone, surpassed Nippon’s IPO record of $13 billion.
