SOLARCON India: An event for Solar Industry

Bangalore: SOLARCON India 2011, the event that focuses on the solar energy, is going to be commence on November 9, 2011 at Hyderabad International Convention Center (HICC) Hyderabad. The event is organized by SEMI India, the Indian arm of the global industry organization SEMI that serves the nano and microelectronics manufacturing. The three-day event will comprise an exhibition, a conference and parallel technical events and over 110 companies will showcase their products and solutions in the exhibition. The theme of the event for this year is "Showcasing the Solar Eco-System: From Polysilicon to Power Plants". More than 70 speakers from the industry, academia and government will be participating in the event and discussing about the trends, opportunities and challenges in the Indian solar industry. The conference is themed "Charting India's Roadmap to Solar Leadership -- Translating Potential into Reality". Debasish Paul Choudhury, President, SEMI India, said, "SOLARCON India 2011 will focus on representing the widening solar value chain in India and the theme of the event reflects this. This year's edition will bring together the best professionals from industry, government, academia, as well as financiers to discuss key implementation aspects and challenges ahead." The event is certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce and features an exclusive U.S. Pavilion with 14 leading U.S. companies participating. Dr. Farooq Abdullah, the Honorable Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, is expected to be the chief guest at the inauguration of the event and the Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy has been invited to preside. The inaugural keynotes will be delivered by Dr. Bharat Bhargava, Dir PV, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, Dr. Josef j. Haase, CEO Cell & Module, Centrotherm PV and James G.Brown, President, Utility Systems Business Group, First Solar.
