Apple was never that crazy about oil and they did not have to go and fight for it. But this is not the case with the U.S. government; they had always had a crush on oil and other oil related products. Yes, oil is a very valuable resource but, when does it become more valuable than human life? While Apple oiled the industry with their well funded product researches, well developed products and awesome marketing campaigns, the government just burned all the money in fighting for and grabbing oil filled countries and not spending anything remotely big on research for an alternative. Creating internal conflict in an oil rich country and then interfering in it in the name of world peace, while the ultimate goal is to get their oil, is a very expensive and not always functional strategy.
