In August 2009, Porsche SE and Volkswageb AG reached an agreement that the two companies would merge in 2011 to form an "Integrated Automobile Group." It was awarded the title of the most prestigious automobile brand by Luxury Institute, New York. The prices for the base models start at $46,475 and can go well over $200,000. Its clientele includes William Gates III, who owns a 1999 Porsche Convertible, a 1988 Porsche 959 Coupe; Paul Allen who owns a 1988 Porsche 959 Coupe; Michael Dell, who owns a 2004 Porsche Boxster; and Ralph Lauren who owns a Porsche 997 GT3 RS.
