Kalanithi Maran
The grandnephew of DMK President M Karunanidhi, Kalanithi Maran is the Chairman and Managing Director of Sun Network. He landed in the controversy when Salem-based firm distributor filed a complaint accusing Sun Pictures of cheating and criminal intimidation. Earlier, DMK leader M K Azhagiri filed a defamation case against him, reporting that Maran was responsible for the attack on a newspaper office in which three persons died.
