Citrix launches Startup Accelerator Global Challenge 2011

Santa Clara: Citrix system, provider of virtual computing solutions, has announced the launch of Global challenge 2011, giving a chance to startups to secure $400k in seed feeding from Citrix Startup Accelerator. Citrix Startup Accelerator is a global investor looking for the best and brightest new businesses doing cutting-edge work in software technology, especially in the areas of mobile and cloud computing.
The company has chosen Cambridge as one of their key global tech centers for the programme, which will be focusing on finding entrepreneurs around the world like Bangalore, Boston, Cambridge, Sydney on seed funding.
The Accelerator will provide, up to $400,000 in seed money, a home at the Citrix Startup Accelerator Center in Silicon Valley for up to 18 months, access to Citrix products, technology, and technologists, networking opportunities with a world-class partner channel and global customer base, business mentoring and leadership, support for your next round of funding, a chance to work side by side with other entrepreneurs at a similar stage.
Applications for the Global Challenge 2011 open from April 20 to May 27. The Cambridge finalists will be asked to make a presentation at one of Citrix's Cambridge offices on June 28 and the global winners will be announced on July 8.
Citrix says the programme is focused on 'new technologies and business models that have the potential to enable new capabilities in areas such as virtualization, cloud, mobility, networking, security, storage, collaboration and SaaS.'
