Frisbee
The modern day flying disc was discovered by Walter Frederick Morrison, when he and his future wife were offered 25 cents for a cake pan, that they were tossing back and forth to each other on a beach. After further refinements, Morrison produced a new disc--which he called Pluto Platter--and sold the rights to Wham-O. The term 'frisbee'--a registered trademark of the Wham-O toy company--is used generically to describe all flying discs.
