The wired telecommunications carriers have seen a growth of -54.9 percent and a revenue of $154,096 million from a total of 23,474 establishments. The industry which provided direct communications via landline, local and long-distance wired-line services have been directly hit by mobile phones, and of late the booming over-the-Internet calls, which provide flexibility and are way cheaper. Switching to VOIP is easier than getting a landline connection, and the tariffs are low, no wonder the wired telephones have now become a collectible.
