Startups That Are Still Bootstrapped

SparkFun

sparkfunEmerging out of both spark and fun, SparkFun Electronics was founded in 2003 by Nathan Seidle. SparkFund is an electronics retailer in Colorado that manufactures and sells microcontroller development boards and breakout boards.

Seidle started the business with just $2500 in credit card debt by purchasing a random assortment of products. However, he was not confident of what will and what will not sell. He realized that a bootstrapped startup needs a lot of working capital; he started tightening his belts of personal expenses and continued expanding his business.
