Sogeti celebrates its 100,000th software testing book
Bangalore: Sogeti Group has reached a significant milestone in its testing history with the presentation of its 100,000th testing-related book. The book, TPI NEXT, is the latest in a series of testing publications written by Sogeti consultants from around the world. In 1995, Sogeti decided to make its structured test methodology, TMap, more widely available, and produced its first book, Software testing: A guide to the TMap Approach, which provided a practical approach to cost-efficient and highly-productive test strategy and execution. Since its introduction, TMap has become the de facto industry standard for structured software testing, used by organisations in both public and private sectors, in countries around the world. A number of other books have followed, including Test Process Improvement: A practical step-by-step guide to structured testing (1999) now a global standard for test maturity assessment and improvement; Testing Embedded Software, TMap Test Topics. Most recently, End-to-end testing with TMap NEXT was the first publication to describe a complete and methodical approach to one of the most complex test situations facing test professionals today: how to test a business process from 'end to end' through a series of IT systems and subsystems. Brian Shea, CEO of Sogeti UK said: "Sogeti is a demonstrable knowledge leader in software testing. Across the group we have a passion for sharing ideas, solving problems and applying our knowledge for our clients' benefit: to lower cost, eliminate risk, and increase the speed, transparency, innovation and benefits of software testing." He concluded: "Our consultants retain a phenomenal amount of knowledge in how to plan, execute, measure, and drive business and technical benefits from software testing. The scale of knowledge we share through our software testing books, events, and online seminars is just the tip of the iceberg." More recently, Sogeti's keystone methodologies have been updated with the publication of TMap NEXT in 2006, and TPI NEXT in 2009. Sogeti has now produced 23 books on testing in seven different languages, including Dutch, English, German, French, Japanese and Korean.
