5. Netflix Split
In 2011, Netflix announced that it will be split into two companies; one would stream videos and the other for DVD rentals. The model introduced gradual increments in the amount being charged by the company for rentals. Contrarily, Netflix lost a tenth of its customers to competitors and the plan was an utter failure.
