Bangalore: Samsung unveiled its Android tablet device 'Samsung Galaxy Tab' with a seven inch LCD screen. With the success of the Apple iPad, earlier this year even Motorola has already demonstrated an Android prototype tablet between 7 and 10 inches screens and that can serve as a companion product to a TV. Whereas Samsung unveiled the device during Samsung's official South Africa Twitter feed.
The samsung tablet might be using Android and a TouchWiz overlay to operate, and have a phone icon that hints at phone calling ability, but we can't help but scream in our minds. Anyhow, Apple similarities aside, there's a 3.5mm headphone jack, a front-facing camera and assume other cool features that will become apparent in the near future.
Whereas co - CEO of Motorola Sanjay Jha said 'nearly all' of his focus is on Android, as opposed to the company developing its own proprietary operating system. Any mobile OS would need to be able to match Android's capabilities, including free navigation and voice-activated services.
