Satya Sai baba was buried inside the Sai Kulwant Hall at the Prasanthi Nilayam ashram in Puttaparthi. Sai Baba was a renouned figure therefore politicians and top bureaucrats attended his burial cerenmony, apart from family members of Baba and officials and members of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. Sai Baba's nephew R.J. Ratnakar performed the last rituals .After the rituals were over, the God man was laid to rest in a 3 by 6 by 4.5 feet deep pit at a private ceremony which was conducted behind the curtains.
