Bangalore: Saffronart, an online auction house for modern and contemporary Indian art and jewelry has launched mobile application which enables auction participants to bid for their favorite art works and jewelry from their phones. This application allows the customers to browse the auction catalogue, bid, check auction results and preview the sales. The application works on most Java enabled mobile phones of brands like RIM Blackberry, Nokia, Motorola and Sony Ericsson. This application provides all features of website bidding to the users. "By providing clients this comprehensive application, we hope to accelerate the pace of innovation in the global auction space. This mobile application, the first of its kind globally for fine-art auctions, offers a new, convenient and secure bidding experience to our clients, and enables collectors to engage with Saffronart in more places and with fewer boundaries," said Dinesh Vazirani, CEO and Co-Founder, Saffronart. The bidding feature of the application has a colour-coded bid status indicator, through which the users can find if they hold the leading bid. It is also equipped with proxy bidding features allowing users to monitor and stop their proxy bids. The progress and results feature allows users to keep track of auction progress with information on current bid amounts and bid histories. Through the view sale catalogues and the lot details feature, bidders can preview the entire auction catalogue, including the lot details such as size, surface, medium and estimates and view images. The search feature enables the users to search auction catalogues by lot number, artist or designer name, material or type of jewelry to easily find items of interest. The users need to be pre-registered for the auction and approved to bid by the company for their safety and security. The application can be downloaded from the company's website.
