Bangalore: Dubai based Research and Innovation Technologies (RIT) has launched mobile software products which will help detect theft of the mobile handset, track a person on the ground, record all the conversations and take a back up of the data stored on phone. For this offering, RIT has tied up with HotSpot Retail, a multi brand mobile and technology retail company, a venture of Dr. B.K. Modi Group to sell its software offering under the brand name "Orbit".
"Orbit is a suite of technologically advanced mobile applications operational on 2.5G and 3G mobile handsets, available at a very competitive price. We plan to sell more than 10 million applications in the first fiscal," said Naushad Abdulla, CEO and Managing Director, RIT.
In the first phase of the offering, four applications have been launched. Orbit Record, a call recorder or mobile dictaphone for Symbian series 60 second and third edition devices allows the user to record all or limited calls using Super Memory Light AMR format. The application enables the user to record thousands of hours of calls on memory cards. These recorded clips can be easily shared via MMS or e-mail. Through this application a mobile phone device can also be utilized as a dictaphone while not on call.
Orbit Tracker is a GPS based mobile phone tracking application. It delivers the information to a web account, where one can view these reports (movie) from any internet enabled computer or mobile phone. It can be used on Series 60, Blackberry, iPhone and Windows mobile devices.
Orbit Protect is an anti-theft and security mobile application that protects the data stored on the phone.
Global Phone Backup is a web based, encrypted mobile phone data backup solution. The access to account information is done through secure socket layer (SSL) connection. The information stored at data centers is implemented with Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) data storage that has the capability to disaster recovery.
"The mobile applications from RIT will help today's consumers' secure their handsets and use them smartly. This exclusive tie-up will also help deliver on our TCO (Total Customer Offering) model and garner more margins while selling new mobile handsets," said Sanjeev Mahajan, CEO, HotSpot Retail.
