Rediff parters with Imere to offer location based internet services

Mumbai: Rediff has entered a partnership with Bangalore based company Imere Technologies to provide internet location based services. "Location-awareness in applications is critical for hyper-local search and local advertising besides many evolving social networking and enterprise applications. Imere's technology is very cost effective in delivering location awareness," said Ajit Balakrishnan, CEO and Chairman of Rediff.com to Duniyalive.com. Imere has also introduced some new geospatial applications. Imere works with Cell-ID, IP Addresses, Wi-Fi, GPS along with its in-house algorithms to provide accurate location based services through the net. "The investment from Rediff will not only help us achieve our goals, but also is strategically very important for the company. Imere's location technologies will enable the creation of innovative and enhanced user experiences as the market adopts the power of location," said Anil Mathews, Founder, Imere Technologies.
